Stephen Pickering is a Geophysical Advisor for Schlumberger. His expertise in exploration, with a specialization in geophysics, has been developed over a 42 year career that began at Western Geophysical with his role as a seismic data processing analyst. More recently, he was Exploration Manager UK & Europe and Manager of Exploration Technology at Hamilton Oil, and BHP Petroleum UK Limited.
He joined Schlumberger in 2000 where he has held several roles including reservoir geophysics, 4D seismic Business Development Manager, and Geophysics Domain Career Leader. He is a Chartered geologist, and an honorary member and past President of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain, and more recently EAGE Board member responsible for Education. Since 2011 he has been the NExT Learning Content and Delivery Director.
