Engineers, explorers and everyone else involved in the energy transition make complex decisions every day. Since these decisions often follow interactions with software and data, making good decisions requires the right digital skills.

But what are those skills? Have we got them? And, if not, how do we develop them?

This webinar will present the result of research by the Centre for People Led Digitalisation, based at Bath University, and supported by OEUK and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, to map out the digital skills needed for the energy transition, and what this means for the oil and gas workforce.

The research shows how the demand for digital skills in oil and gas is growing, where organisations should focus their digital skills training, and where workers should be looking to build the skills needed to navigate the energy transition.

Our speakers are: Dr Daniel Brown, Chief Business Architect of Flare Solutions and a former Head of Data and Digital with Offshore Energies UK. He is also a former global data operations manager with BP, among other roles.

And Aida Garcia Lazaro, from the Centre for People-led Digitalisation and the Brunel Centre, based at the University of Bath.

This webinar will be held at 12 noon UK time on Thursday February 6

A decade of delivering collaboration through the energy industry's leading organisations - CDA, LOGIC, and OEUK.

Supporting the data profession through its journey from PON9 to Energy Act 2016 (and 2023), Information and Samples Plans, ISCs, and the delivery of the UK NDR to the NSTA.

Rolling out SEQual for industry supplier prequalification and assurance, supporting the ongoing development of VantagePOB - the UKCS' aviation personnel logistics service - and ensuring IMHH, Standard Contracts, and other not-for-profit LOGIC tools continue to deliver, in an industry transitioning from oil and gas to wind and carbon storage.

All of this takes a team, dedicated to delivering on behalf of industry, while having fun doing so - and a spirit of collaboration and community to keep working and delivering for tomorrow as well as for today. In data, digital, cyber security, information management, mobile solutions, IT and beyond, that community is the heart of what it takes to be collaborative and competitive in our transforming energy industry.
