How can we best integrate airborne gravity and magnetic data, with seismic and well data?
It cannot be done with digital technology alone - it needs expertise to use seismic and well data to 'constrain' the grav-mag. In our webinar on March 21st we'll review how it can be done.
Our speaker is Darren Burrows, Technical Marketing Manager - Global with Xcalibur Multiphysics. Darren is based in Mississauga, Ontario, He's worked as a mining seismologist in South Africa, for Fugro Airborne Surveys in South Africa, and for CGG in Houston.
Darren will present a case study from a large area of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with work integrating Airborne Gravity Gradiometer (AGG), and magnetic data over four blocks in the Cuvette Central Basin.
It is an underexplored poorly understood basin, with oil shows and very few oil wells.
The talk will provide some history of exploration in the region, look at the "FALCON" Full Tensor Gradiometry (FTG) survey, and how models were built of geological targets including the potential reservoir and basement. It will look in depth at gravity and magnetic modelling of data from the Ngoki Block.

Technical geoscience professional in the resource exploration sector. Of particular interest is the use of electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic data to de-risk early stage exploration projects. Having held both technical and business development positions, I enjoy looking at exploration projects holistically to design solutions that meet both geological and budgetary constraints.
