Carbon Capture & Storage has been for some while a technology that's been said to be much in need but has never arrived. A bit of a 'Cinderella' that has either not been scaled up sufficiently or not had its costs driven down - with the net result that it has been perceived as 'uneconomic'.
However, views are changing as the Majors - at least the European ones - respond to pressure over emissions; as a result there are now two strongly backed CCS projects in NW Europe, one in the UK and one in Norway.
Rather than focussing on the technicalities of CCS - which are adequately dealt with here - this Webinar will review all the latest developments in this rapidly emerging, and changing, field.

Vitol appointed Jonathan Briggs in December 2019 as Project Director for its Humber Zero decarbonisation project at VPI Immingham, its 1.2GW combined heat and power plant (CHP) in North Lincolnshire.
Jonathan joined Vitol from OGCI Climate Investments, an investment fund backed by 13 oil & gas companies with a £1.3 billion investment remit to identify and invest in technologies and businesses to mitigate climate change. He has 30 years’ experience in the energy sector, leading projects across upstream, LNG, hydrogen, power and CCUS, including BP’s initial CCS project at the North Sea’s Miller platform and the Don Valley Power.
He is chair of the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA).
