Webinar
Online

The oil and gas industry needs to gather emissions data from multiple sources.

Some of it is entered manually; some we gather from suppliers; some we put together using templates.

This forum focuses on ways we can gather emissions data, looking at all methods other than methane sensing (which are covering separately in a webinar on Nov 17).

Topics we expect to cover include:

Gathering data from suppliers
Gathering data about machinery we use and processes we follow
Gathering data about specific equipment we use

Times in agenda below are UK time

Bringing supplier data into an emissions management system - a data exchange standard

Watch Video
Talk Description
The PIDX ETDX (Emissions Transparency Data Exchange) standard is a standard way to exchange emissions data between suppliers and buyers in the oil and gas industry. It can be connected with invoicing and other supply chain processes, so that data about emissions made in creating a supplied item can automatically be entered into oil and gas company emission management systems. This can be included in the 'upstream' part of their Scope 3 emissions, which they may shortly need to start submitting to regulators and others. Chris Welsh, chair of the ETDX Workgroup, will give an update.
Chris has over 35 years of Information Technology, eCommerce and Consulting experience and has been a key player in Oil & Gas eCommerce since 1995.

Chris has managed numerous global projects for operators, services companies and eCommerce networks across the globe.

He was a founding member of ACT Global Consulting Ltd and has been providing strategic advice and technology architecture solutions to the Oil & Gas industry since 2000.

In March 2015, Chris became CEO and Chairman of the Board of OFS Portal LLC, a global member-based group of upstream oil and gas suppliers and service providers at the forefront of oilfield eCommerce. Chris is also Chair of the PIDX International Standards group and sits on the board of ConnectONCE.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Computing for Commerce and Industry and he is a keen rock climber and races a Ducati super-bike in his spare time

Bringing data about emissions of oil and gas services into a carbon data management system

Watch Video
Although beginning her career as a geoscientist, in recent years, Emily has been investigating the challenges faced by operators and service providers in the oil and gas industry when it comes to implementing sustainability initiatives. As the industry witnesses an ever increasing spotlight on emissions, Emily has been part of a team that have been looking to see how digital solutions can clear a path to easier management of emissions, that will support the industry in it’s journey to net zero. Emily holds a doctorate in geotechnical engineering from the University of Southampton, and has been working and researching in the oil and gas industry for almost 20 years.
