Formerly TGS, VSG has been the Visualization Sciences Group of Mercury Computer Systems, from May 2004, before becoming a stand-alone company again on June 2009 through a Management Buy-Out.

In September 2011, VSG has acquired Noesis , maker of the popular image processing and analysis software VISILOG
