Rob Naylor Graduated in 1977 in Astrophysics from Leicester University
Two years with Decca Survey as a Pulse/8 Navigation Engineer, onshore and offshore
Thirteen years with Geco/ Geco-Prakla starting as a Navigator offshore and moving on to Navigation Supervisor and Navigation Manager for EAME region
Study break in 1985-6 to study Land and Hydrographic Surveying at University of East London. Passed the final examination of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), winning the Wainwright Prize for highest marks in the Land and Hydrographic Division and the Penfold-Driver Prize for the highest marks in all Divisions.
Set up the UK office of EnSoCo Inc in 1993. Bought the company out from the parent company in 1999 and renamed to ITL, offering navigation QC and processing services. Merged with Consultancy WTW & Associates in 2003, becoming General Manager. WTW was bought by RPS in 2008 and he is currently Seismic Projects Manager at RPS where he is extensively involved with RPS projects in Sakhalin, Russian Arctic and Middle East.
Former Chairman and Honorary Secretary of The Hydrographic Society. Former Chair of Hydrographic Practice Panel of the RICS. Member of the OGP Task Force for the new P2/11 Raw Navigation Data Exchange format.
