Michael Kemper & David Gawith
Michael is a geoscientist with 26 years' experience in geophysics, petrophysics and reservoir engineering. The first 13 years were spent with Shell International in The Hague, Nigeria and London, during which time Michael made contributions to the interface between petrophysics and geophysics.
In May 1999 he became team leader petrophysics/petroacoustics at Ikoda Limited, working on a wide variety of projects. It is during this time that RokDoc - now one of Ikon Science's main products - was started. One of the co-founders of Ikon Science, he is now the Director if Technology, Research & Development, responsible for the incorporation of latest techniques and developments in the area of rock physics into the Ikon Science software portfolio.
David has 35 years oil industry experience having worked for BP in London, Aberdeen and overseas. While at BP he invented the 'Shared Earth Model' concept and wrote a number of geophysical manuals to aid geophysicists in their day to day work. In 1999 he left BP to become a consultant, specialising in geostatistical reservoir modelling. In 2001 he set up EarthModels Ltd and developed and wrote a 3D/4D reservoir modelling package, ChronoSeis. David joined Ikon Science in 2007 and ChronoSeis was integrated into Ikon's RokDoc software. He is an expert in reservoir characterisation, 3D/4D modelling and feasibility studies. He has written numerous papers on the subject and presented at the EAGE, SEG and SPE.
