UOS (Poland) buys Sercel wireless seismic system

Friday, February 03, 2012 in Exploration / Seismic

United Oilfield Services (UOS) of Poland has acquired a 6,000 channel cable-free "UNITE" seismic acquisition system from Sercel.

This is the 18th order for Sercel's UNITE.

UOS provides critical hydraulic fracturing, modern drilling, and seismic data acquisition services to European oil and gas industries.

The order follows a pilot test, when an aeroplane was used to quality control the spread.

Sercel claims that UNITE offers an "unprecedented level of flexibility and quality control in the most challenging onshore environments, including urban areas."

UOS has also purchased five Sercel NOMAD 65 vibrators equipped with VE464 controllers and it plans to deploy the first vibrator fleet in February 2012.

'We chose UNITE because it is the most advanced system capable of combining its ease-of-use when operating in autonomous mode with the advanced features of remote data harvesting," says Stanislaw Zon, Country Manager, United Oilfield Services.

"We are confident that this system will aid us in our quest to become the market-leading oilfield service company in Poland.'
