Stingray launches well zone monitoring solution

Stingray has developed a new solution called FosarFocus for targeted well zone monitoring applications.

By permanently installing a small, highly sensitive, broadband FosarFocus multi-component fibre-optic seismic sensing array on the seabed over the target area, high dynamic range active and passive time-lapse data can be acquired.

For flood front monitoring, a FosarFocus array is installed between injector and producer wells. Frequent repeat seismic surveys provide a picture of how the fluid front moves over time. It also provides pressure distribution information and can help identify flow barriers and areas missed by the fluid flood.

For fracture monitoring, the FosarFocus system is deployed in a cross or star pattern above the zone being stimulated. For this application, passive micro-seismic events associated with reservoir stimulation are detected by the array and used to update the reservoir model, providing information on the fracture geometry. An active seismic survey provides pre (and post) stimulation information on the reservoir fracture network.
