Siem Offshore installs CapRock VSAT on 5 supply vessels offshore Brazil

Friday, January 27, 2012 in Communications

Siem Offshore, an operator of offshore support vessels, has signed up to use Harris CapRock VSAT communications systems on 5 supply vessels which are located offshore Brazil, in a 3 year contract.

Harris Caprock will provide corporate networking, internet access, voice over IP, real time monitoring and reporting, and "crew morale" services.

It will also provide network design, equipment, installation, service and support.

'We require a robust communications solution onboard our vessels to support our crew and our day-to-day operations,' says Cato Engebretsen, director of supply chain for Siem Offshore Inc.

"After assessing the capabilities of Harris CapRock and its ability to provide local service and support in Brazil, it was the clear choice for our team.'

All the equipment will be tested in Aberdeen and then shipped to Brazil.

'The agreement with Siem Offshore's Brazilian operations highlights the quality communications technology that we've built a solid reputation on in the market,' said Pal Jensen, president of SeaAccess, Harris CapRock.
