Oil and Gas UK appoints supply chain director

Thursday, December 01, 2011 in Automation

UK oil and gas industry trade body Oil and Gas UK has appointed David Ripley as its supply chain director, replacing Brian Kinkead.

He has responsibility for looking after the supply chain companies in Oil and Gas UK.

"The companies which make up this section of the oil and gas industry include internationally-renowned engineering and supply contractors which have grown their businesses here alongside domestic production over the last four decades," he said.

'Our supply chain community is now a centre of global excellence in offshore engineering, particularly subsea and structural integrity work.

"I will be looking to put the needs of the supply chain to the top of the agenda at Oil & Gas UK, as well as spearheading the long-term work of the new Well Life Cycle Practices Forum. This forum was set up by the Oil Spill Prevention and Response Advisory Group (OSPRAG) to bring together knowledge and experience of best practice with regards well design, construction and operation.'

David Ripley has 25 years of oil and gas industry experience in areas including
geological evaluation, drilling and completion fluid technology, and well engineering technology.
