Larraine Boorman appointed UK managing director of OPITO

Larraine Boorman has been appointed UK managing director of OPITO, an oil and gas industry owned organisation which helps oil and gas companies manage competence.

Ms Boorman was founder of ACUA Ltd, a human resources consultancy based at Coventry University, UK. She is a former chief executive of Fern Training and Development Ltd and managing director of Sencia Group Ltd.

She replaces David Binnie, who left OPITO in October 2011 because he was moving to New Zealand.

Ms Boorman's role at OPITO will be to help the oil and gas industry find out ways to fill its skills gaps, making sure the learning and training is ins place. She will also develop relationships between the industry and government.
