Invensys is top human machine interface software company - ARC

Friday, January 13, 2012 in Automation

Invensys Operations Management, a UK company which makes software for oil and gas plant, is the world's top provider of human machine interface software and services, judged by market share, according to a market study by ARC Advisory Group.

Invensys makes the Wonderware InTouch and ArchestrA software for human machine interface, supervisory and SCADA applications.

Wonderware was also the first human machine interface software to run on Microsoft Windows. The software has been on Microsoft Windows since 1992.

Invensys has been featured in the list before but was not in the top position last year.

'We are thrilled to see the results of our accelerated focus on the HMI market," says Rashesh Mody, senior vice president of software and advanced applications for Invensys Operations Management.

'It should be noted, as well, that unlike other vendors, this is all organic growth as Invensys has not acquired any other HMI companies in recent history," he says.

"Our customers tell us that we provide the most scalable, open and extensible platform for HMI, ranging from offerings that fit OEM / machine builders all the way to full enterprise control visualisation.

"Our active installed base for HMI is approaching 700,000 licenses."
