Energy Navigator releases new version of reserves management tool

Friday, February 03, 2012 in Software

Energy Navigator of Calgary has released a new version of its reserves evaluation and management tool, "Value Navigator".

The new version, called "ValNav 6.0", can be used to manage the evaluation of conventional and unconventional reserves, taking users through all the necessary steps ("workflow").

The company claims that its software is "one of the most widely used engineering and evaluation software tools in the Canadian oil and gas community."

The new software version has over 30 improved features, including support for SQL server and SQLite data management.

It is the most comprehensive update to the software which has been made in the past 12 years, the company says.

The new software version has a new approach to production decline analysis.

The software is designed with Canadian NI 51-101 and US SEC regulations in mind.

It records all changes made to a project.

The company claims that the forecasting from its software is accurate "more than 95 per cent of the time".
