Over 25 years of experience working as a petroleum geologist in the oil industry, working for Serica on North Sea and north-west European projects as well as Atlantic Margin exploration. Prior to Serica Energy, Graham was employed with Noble Energy, BP, LASMO, Ultramar and MMS Petroleum, working in exploration, development, production and operations roles, both within the UKCS and international areas (Western & Eastern Europe, Africa, Former Soviet Union). Graham holds a BSc in Geology from Exeter University and an MSc in Pollution and Environmental Control from Manchester University.

Understanding fractured reservoirs and rocks

The fact that fractures are common in the subsurface have been known for at least the last century but the practice of treating reservoirs as fractured rock masses has been extremely slow in becoming a standard industry practice, despite that fact that fields with such reservoirs are known from SE Asia, the carbonates of the Middle East and much more recently, the basement West of the Shetlands.
