Mixed views on if US deepwater R&D has stalled

Shell to host first ITF event in Houston
ITF (Industry Technology Facilitator), an industry owned organisation which helps companies work together to develop new technology, has announced that Shell will host its first Houston meeting, which will be held in Shell's Houston offices in September 2012.

PNEC "Cornerstone" award to Madelyn Bell and Jess B Kozman

Shell - new well control equipment
Shell is developing a range of new equipment and tools for preventing uncontrolled releases of hydrocarbon during the construction of wells, including well control automation, explosive devices to cut drill pipe apart, blow out preventer caps and pipe crushers.
